I think I’ve found a way to sum up my imaginary friend. It has something to do with that fact that I don’t often know where my thoughts stop and reality begins. More soon.
Dearest Cheralyn, even though I know you are dissatisfied with the outcome of this semester, I see the growth in your work. I also think that you over criticised your work ... if only you could relax into the making and enjoy it ... you have all the skills and insights that you need to make exquisite art pieces. I still haven't worked out what happened to stop you doing just that. The say the course is structured, this is all achievable ... it is just a matter of 'working clever'- the bodies of work aren't finalised until the end of Term 3. Please search for the small pieces ... the eye piece and other experiments you did as process work. I'd like to gather them together and photograph them as a series. I will do it, if you give them to me. please rest in the knowing that you have maintained a vha and what lies ahead isn't supposed to be daunting. Please enjoy what you do best. ms h
